Milla Is A "Monster Hunter"

Actress Milla Jovovich of "Resident Evil" fame has joined the cast of Constantin Film's $60 million budgeted, live-action feature "Monster Hunter", based on the Capcom video games, to be directed by Milla's husband Paul W.S. Anderson, shooting September 2018 in Toronto:

"...in a fantasy universe, humans and other sentient races have set their eyes on the 'New World', a separate continent from the populated 'Old World'.

"The New World is an untamed wilderness where many powerful monsters roam, and where researchers have been drawn to uncover new mysteries.

"Several ocean-bound 'Fleets' have been sent already to establish working bases, safe from monsters, and operations are led by the 'Research Commission'.

In the game, the player takes the role of a 'Hunter', tasked to hunt down and either kill/trap 'monsters' that roam in one of several environmental spaces.

If successful, the player is rewarded through loot consisting of parts from the monster and other elements that are used to craft weapons and armor. Players may hunt alone, or in cooperative groups of up to four players.

Capcom's "Monster Hunter: World" is now the publisher's best-selling game of all-time, shipping 7.9 million copies since January 2018.

Milla's "Resident Evil" 6-movie film franchise earned over $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office.
