Lantos Believes In "Barney's Version"...

Toronto-based producer Robert Lantos has acquired "Barney's Version", by Canadian author Mordecai Richler , to be adapted as a feature by Lantos' Serendipity Point Films and Italian-based Fandango, starring actor Paul "Pentagon Papers" Giamatti.

The film will start in August, lensing in Rome, Montreal, New York and Quebec's Laurentian Mountains, directed by Richard J. Lewis, of "C.S.I." fame.

Lantos peviously produced a 1985 feature adapting Richler's "Joshua Then And Now", starring actor James Woods.

Published in 1997, Richler's "Barney's Version" is written as an autobiography by 'Barney Panofsky', recounting his life in varying detail that includes friendship, romance and murder...
