Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts is executive producing the comedy feature "Jesus Henry Christ", currently prepping for a Toronto start June 5, shooting through to July 11.
Screenplay is by director Dennis Lee ("Fireflies In The Garden").
Actors cast include Michael Sheen ("Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans") and Toni Collette ("United States Of Tara").In 2008, Roberts also executive produced the Toronto-lensed "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl", through her Red Om films banner.
Based on Lee's Academy Award-winning short film of the same name, "Jesus Henry Christ" follows 'Henry James Hermin', a boy conceived in a petri-dish and raised by a loving, left-wing feminist. At the age of 10, he decides his mother's love is not enough and begins to follow a trail of 'Post-It' notes stuck around town hoping it will lead him to his biological father.
Sukee Chew of Hopscotch Pictures will also produce.
