FLASHBACK : Toronto Lingerie Football Club Try-Outs

The Las Vegas-based "Lingerie Football League, LLC." (LFL) reports that Toronto's Ricoh Coliseum has been chosen as the host arena for the newly named "Toronto Triumph" team:

"...After thousands of fan votes submitted to LFL league offices, the name 'Triumph' was submitted most often and ultimately selected as the first LFL Canadian franchise set to compete Fall 2011 in the United States eastern conference.

"'The Triumph' will compete against the 'Cleveland Crush', 'Baltimore Charm', 'Philadelphia Passion', 'Tampa Breeze' and 'Orlando Fantasy'..."

"Since the announcement of the LFL's expansion into Toronto and Canadian league premiering in 2012, there has been an overwhelming reaction from fans, media, broadcast networks and investors," said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League, LLC.

"As much success as the league has seen through its first two seasons in the US, we expect greater success in Canada due to its fanaticism around sports".

The Toronto Triumph will be a prelude to the LFL's Canadian league, set to kickoff in 2012 with six market teams competing in a twelve week season, leading up to the first-ever "Canadian Lingerie Bowl" set to be played Grey Cup weekend at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.

Five Canadian markets will join the Toronto Triumph as part of the inaugural season of play, with Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Hamilton and Ottawa in consideration.

Currently two major Canadian sports networks are in negotiations for exclusive broadcast rights to the US and Canadian leagues.

Toronto Triumph will host their first 'Open Tryout Football Combine', Saturday, April 30 @ SoccerWorld, Polson Pier, 4pm-7pm.
